Zane Maloney took part in his first Formula E session during the 2023 rookie test in Berlin. As the reigning Formula 3 runner-up, he competed in Formula 2 for the first time in the same year and, as part of the Red Bull junior team, was also Red Bull Racing's official test and reserve driver in Formula 1.
After taking part in the rookie test in Berlin again in 2024, he was given a regular cockpit at Lola Yamaha ABT for the 2024/25 season. He finished his first season in 24th and last place without scoring any World Championship points. However, he remained with the team and scored his first Formula E point at the start of the 2025/26 season.
