Mattias Ekström

Mattias Ekström's motorsport career began in karting before he first competed in the Swedish touring car series STCC in 1997. He won the championship title there in 1999. Two years later, he moved to ABT Sportsline in the DTM, where he achieved 22 race wins, 20 pole positions and two overall victories (2004, 2007) in his 16-year career. He is now a factory driver in Audi Sport's Dakar Rally program.

In Extreme E, Ekström competed for the first time in 2021, but again with ABT. After a one-year break, he will drive for the Spanish team Acciona Sainz in the 2023 season.
