At the age of just eleven, Tamara Molinaro, who grew up on Lake Como, began rallying. In 2017, 2018 and 2019, she participated sporadically in World Rally Championship (WRC) events, after which she gained experience in rallycross.
On July 6, 2021, Molinaro was introduced as the female "Championship Driver" of Extreme E. As a substitute driver, the Italian was available to all teams in the first season before being given a regular cockpit at Xite Energy in 2022. In 2023, she again was the series' Championship Driver. As part of this role, she raced for McLaren.
