Daniel "Dan" Ticktum won the Macau Grand Prix in 2017 and 2018. As a Red Bull-sponsored junior driver, he made his FIA Formula 2 debut in 2018, where he won several races. Formula 1 team Williams later signed him, but terminated the deal in early August 2021.
On 25 November 2021, the Chinese Formula E team Nio 333 announced Ticktum as a regular driver for the 2022 season. He still drives for the team, which rebranded in 2024 and started racing under the name ERT. In the 2024/25 season, he remained with the team, which was renamed Kiro Race Co and later Cupra Kiro following a change of ownership. Thanks to Porsche's customer engines, Ticktum made his breakthrough that season: his first podium in Tokyo, his first victory in Jakarta and his first pole position in London. With 85 points, he scored more than twice as many points as in the previous three seasons combined.
