Between 2014 and 2020, Andreas Bakkerud raced in the World Rallycross Championship, where he managed to finish runner-up in 2019. He then switched back to the European Rallycross Championship, which he won in 2021 - in parallel with a stint in the electric NitroRX series.
As a "Championship Driver," Bakkerud has been available to all teams as a universal substitute driver since the 2023 Extreme E season and could step in should regular drivers in the series drop out.
