16 races with an 8-week season break: Formula E publishes complete 2024/25 race calendar

Formula E announced the final race calendar for the 2024/25 season on Thursday evening. The race in March, which was previously listed without a venue, has been cancelled without replacement. Apart from the relocation of the Diriyah race to Jeddah, there are no other changes to the comparison with the first draft. The London E-Prix will be the season finale again and take place on 26 and 27 July 2025, as previously planned.
The announcement followed the decision by the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) to approve the race calendar. With 16 races in ten cities, the calendar is just as extensive as in the past two seasons. A planned expansion will not take place after all.
The reason for this is likely to be the new political situation in Thailand, where a race in Chiang Mai in the north of the country was already close to being finalised. Former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin was a strong supporter of a Formula E race, but was removed from office a few months ago.
For the first time in five years, the season opener will take place before the end of the year: The racing series will kick off the new season in the Sao Paulo E-Prix on 7 December 2024. This will be followed by the "classic" in Mexico City before the racing series travels to Jeddah for the first time. The Saudi Arabia race has previously always taken place in Diriyah.
Miami returns to the race calendar, Monaco "double-header" for the first time
After an eight-week break, Formula E will return to Miami on 12 April for the first time in ten years, at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in the south of the city. In May, the series will then head to Europe for the first time, where two races will be held in Monaco - a first in the eleventh Formula E season.
The series then travels on to Tokyo, where two races will also be held two weeks later. This will be followed by Shanghai - another double-header - before the Asian leg is concluded on 21 June with the return of the Jakarta E-Prix to the calendar.
This will be followed by the obligatory Berlin E-Prix, which will also be held in the eleventh year of the championship, but unlike in the past, will not take place until July. As in previous years, two races will once again be held in Berlin. On 26 and 27 July 2025, the season finale will once again be held in London - probably for the last time. The racing series' contract with the ExCeL exhibition centre is coming to an end.
