Andretti will have a new team principal for the start of Formula E’s Gen4 era. Campbell Hobson is taking over from Roger Griffiths, who has led the team’s Formula E programme since the championship’s inaugural season in 2014 and will now move into an advisory role.
Andretti will undergo a change at the top ahead of the 2026/27 Formula E season. Current team manager Campbell Hobson has been appointed team principal, replacing Roger Griffiths, the team announced on Friday.
Griffiths has led Andretti’s Formula E operation since the championship launched in 2014, meaning he has been in charge throughout all 12 seasons so far. He will not leave the organisation, however, and will instead move into a senior advisory role supporting both the Formula E team and other motorsport activities within TWG Motorsports.
"After 12 seasons, it feels like the right time to pass the baton," Griffiths said. He added that he was proud of what the team had built since entering Formula E and highlighted Hobson’s role within the leadership structure over recent years.
Hobson promoted from within
Hobson steps up from his previous role as team manager, having already worked closely with Griffiths on the day-to-day running of the Formula E operation. According to Andretti, he has been involved in the team’s operational management, staffing structure and sporting activities.
Hobson described the promotion as an "incredible privilege" and said the team had a strong foundation and major ambitions for the years ahead.

During Griffiths’ time at the helm, Andretti scored 13 Formula E victories and 46 podium finishes. The team’s biggest success came in the 2022/23 season, when Jake Dennis won the Formula E drivers’ world championship.
New team principal for the start of the Gen4 era
The leadership change comes just before one of the biggest technical transitions in Formula E history. The 2026/27 season marks the start of the Gen4 era, with Andretti continuing as a Nissan customer team. The team is also retaining continuity in its driver line-up, with Jake Dennis and Felipe Drugovich remaining with Andretti.
Hobson’s first race weekend as team principal will come in Jeddah on December 18 and 19, when the new Formula E season begins with a double-header at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
