FIA Formula E
At the Berlin E-Prix, as at every race of the Formula E World Championship, it is the task of the race stewards of the FIA to check compliance with the Technical and Sporting Regulations. If they find an offence, it is their job to determine the penalty. As usual, you will find a list of all the weekend's decisions in this article.
At the Berlin E-Prix 2026, the chairman of the stewards Loic Bacquelaine, the international steward Mathieu Remmerie and the national steward Yasin Özer will take on this task. They will be supported by former racing driver Alex Yoong. Malaysian-born Yoong also spent two years in Formula 1 during his motorsport career, where he drove for the Minardi team.
Penalties ahead of the race weekend
- Citroen Racing received a fine of 10,000 euros because the team did not switch on the camera in the garage on Wednesday night. This is used to monitor the curfew. The stewards decided on a higher fine as it was not possible for them to monitor the curfew. This was more serious than a violation of the curfew. When asked by e-Formula.news, the team explained that it was an IT problem with the camera.
Penalties during Free Practice
- Cupra Kiro got a fine of 1,500 euros, because Dan Ticktum was driving 65 instead of 50 km/h in the pitlane.
- Cupra Kiro was handed a further fine of 600 euros because Ticktum’s team-mate Pepe Marti was also driving too fast in the pit lane. The Spaniard was travelling at 56 km/h.
- Taylor Barnard received a reprimand, because he impeded Lucas di Grassi in FP1. It was his first reprimand of the season. After the third reprimand, a driver gets a 10-places grid penalty.
- DS Penske got a fine of 2,500 euros, because the tyre pressure of the car of Maximilian Günther was below the minimum value, provided by supplier Hankook.
Penalties after qualifying on Sunday
- Max Günther got a 3-places grid penalty because he impeded Jake Dennis on a fast lap during group qualifying. Instead of P11, he was in P14 in the grid.
