At the Jeddah E-Prix, as at every race of the Formula E World Championship, it is the task of the race stewards of the FIA to check compliance with the Technical and Sporting Regulations. If they find an offence, it is their job to determine the penalty. As usual, you will find a list of all the weekend's decisions in this article.

At the Jeddah E-Prix 2026, the chairman of the stewards Achim Loth, the international steward David Fuentes and the national steward Hasan Al Abdali will take on this task. They will be supported by ex-racing driver Pedro Lamy, who has never competed in a Formula E race but has a lot of experience in GT and endurance racing.

Penalties ahead of the Jeddah E-Prix

  • Lucas di Grassi was subsequently handed a five-second time penalty at the Miami E-Prix, which was converted into a grid penalty of three positions for the first race in Jeddah. The Brazilian had left the track in turn 7 and failed to come to a complete stop to the right of the pylon in the run-off zone as prescribed.

Penalties in Free Practice on Thursday and Friday

  • Citroen must pay a fine of 1,500 euros because the battery in Jean-Eric Vergne's car was overcharged. Battery manufacturer Fortescue Zero has clear guidelines on how the teams must charge the batteries, and a specified maximum value must not be exceeded.
  • Edoardo Mortara received a warning for failing to observe the minimum pit stop time during the Pit Boost pit stop in Free Practice 1.
  • Pepe Marti received a reprimand for impeding Jean-Eric Vergne on a fast lap. If a driver receives three reprimands during a season, he is automatically demoted ten places on the grid. However, it was Marti's first reprimand.
  • Lucas di Grassi received a reprimand for not following the race director's instructions. The Brazilian had slowed down between turns 16 and 17. It was di Grassi's second reprimand of the season.
  • Norman Nato also received a reprimand for not following the race director's instructions. The Nissan driver had also slowed down between turns 16 and 17. For Nato it was also reprimand number 2.
  • Oliver Rowland also received a reprimand. The Briton caused a collision with Taylor Barnard. It was also Rowland's second reprimand of the 2025/26 season.
  • Citroen had to pay a further fine of 2,500 euros because the tyre pressure of Jean-Eric Vergne's car was below the minimum pressure specified by tyre supplier Hankook in the FP2 session.

Penalties during the race on Friday

  • Joel Eriksson received a drive-through penalty for driving to the Pit Boost pit stop even though his battery charge level was still above 60 per cent. According to specifications from battery manufacturer Fortescue Zero, the battery charge level must be between 40 and 60 per cent during fast charging.

Penalties in Free Practice on Saturday

  • Nyck de Vries has been penalised with a 60-place grid penalty for Saturday's race after his Mahindra car had electronic control unit (MCU) changes once and its electric motor (MGU) changed twice. As this is not remotely possible, the Dutchman will start the race from last place on the grid and will also serve a 10-second stop-and-go penalty at the end of lap 1.
  • Jean-Eric Vergne received a reprimand for impeding Antonio Felix da Costa on a fast lap. It was his first reprimand of the current season.
