As on every race weekend, it is the task of the race stewards of the FIA at the Mexico City E-Prix to check compliance with the Technical and Sporting Regulations. If they find an offence, they must also determine the penalty. As usual, you will find a list of all the weekend's decisions in this article.</p

At the Mexico City E-Prix 2025, the presiding commissioner Loic Bacquelaine, the international commissioner Achim Loth and the national commissioner Omar Chavez will take on this task. They will be supported by driver steward Pedro Lamy, who has never competed in a Formula E race but has a lot of experience in GT and endurance racing.

Penalties ahead of the Mexico City E-Prix

  • Lucas di Grassi will have to move down five places on the grid in Mexico. The Brazilian caused a collision with Edoardo Mortara in Sao Paulo
  • Jean-Eric Vergne was demoted three positions for the Mexico City E-Prix in Sao Paulo because he drove too fast in the full-course yellow.
  • Felipe Drugovich was demoted three positions for the Mexico City E-Prix for overtaking Pascal Wehrlein and Nick Cassidy at the full-course yellow in Sao Paulo.
  • Pepe Marti was demoted to the back of the field at the Mexico City E-Prix in Brazil for causing a collision during the full-course yellow.

Penalties in free practice

  • Nissan had to pay a fine of 1,800 euros because Norman Nato was driving 68 km/h in the pit lane. A maximum of 50 km/h is permitted. As the Frenchman was driving more than 15 km/h too fast, he also received a penalty point.
  • Jake Dennis received a reprimand for spinning his tyres in the pit lane during the second free practice session.
  • Lola Yamaha ABT had to pay a fine of 2,500 euros because the tyre pressure on Lucas di Grassi's car was below the minimum of 1.2 bar specified by tyre manufacturer Hankook.
  • Citroen Racing was fined 1,000 euros because a mechanic was working on Jean-Eric Vergne's car when it was in ready-to-move status. This is prohibited for safety reasons.
  • Lola Yamaha ABT received another fine of 2,500 euros because the tyre pressure on Lucas di Grassi's car was again below the minimum pressure.
  • Porsche also received a fine of 2,500 euros for this offence. Nico Müller's 99X Electric was affected.
  • The same applied to Jaguar, who also had to pay a fine of 2,500 euros for insufficient tyre pressure on Mitch Evans' car.
  • Pepe Marti got a 60 places grid penalty because inverter, MGU & gearbox on his car have been changed. This means he will have to serve a 10 seconds stop-and-go-penalty after lap 1 in the race.

Penalties after qualifying

  • As expected, Pepe Marti received a 10-second stop-and-go penalty for the race, which he must serve at the end of the first lap. His grid penalty could not be fully implemented.

Penalties during and after the race

  • Joel Eriksson received a five-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage. This penalty dropped him from 10th to 14th place. Additionally, Eriksson received a penalty point.
