After its fourth race, the 2024-25 FIA Formula E World Championship has taken a longer break. Due to the cancellation of a race planned in Thailand, the Miami E-Prix will take place on 14 April. After eight weeks, the Miami E-Prix on 14 April will once again be an "official" event in the racing series, not including the Evo Sessions in which influencers were allowed to drive the Formula E cars. We therefore take a look at the teams' statistics for the start of the 2024-25 season.

World Championship points

The top of the team standings in 2024/25 is extremely tight: the top four teams in the series are separated by just five points after the fourth race! Most recently in Jeddah, DS Penske, Nissan, McLaren and Maserati MSG Racing scored a lot of points and moved well ahead. The only team without championship points so far is Lola Yamaha ABT, where there have been some reliability issues as well as a lack of performance.

Compared to the points total after four races last year, it is clear that Jaguar and its customer team Envision in particular scored significantly fewer points than in the previous year. Porsche and DS Penske were even able to slightly improve on their good results from the previous season. Mahindra, Nissan and Maserati MSG Racing, on the other hand, have had a much better start to the season, while McLaren was also able to noticeably increase its points haul.

Qualifying performance

Porsche has dominated qualifying so far, but DS Penske and Nissan also made it into the first four rows of the grid on average. The Porsche customer team Andretti is - as in the previous season - only at the back of the midfield. What is remarkable about Nissan is that both drivers performed extremely differently (Rowland: 4.5 / Nato: 14.5). Envision and Lola Yamaha ABT have been by far the weakest teams in qualifying so far.

This is clearly illustrated by the duel entries in the first four qualifying sessions: Porsche, DS Penske and Nissan accounted for more than half of all 32 duel participants. Envision and Lola Yamaha ABT, on the other hand, are still waiting to make their first appearance in the quarter-finals.

Race performance

The race presents a slightly different picture: McLaren and Andretti are clearly moving forward in the E-Prix. The teams' race pace is significantly better than their pace in qualifying. In addition, Andretti in particular benefited from the fact that faster cars retired. The Porsche works team, on the other hand, has been involved in a conspicuous number of incidents in the races so far, which is why the average position in the race is significantly worse than in qualifying.
