Di Grassi & Maloney in superhero garb: Lola Yamaha ABT with special livery in Berlin

On Friday morning, Lola Yamaha ABT surprisingly unveiled a special livery for the race weekend in Berlin. Warner Bros Discovery has entered into a partnership with the team, which has newly come together before season 11. To celebrate this sponsorship deal, the Lola team will compete in Berlin in the "Superman look". The film of the same name was released in German cinemas on 10 July 2025.

Keith Smouth, Chief Commercial Officer of Lola Cars, sees the partnership as a huge win for the brand: "This partnership with Warner Brothers is a huge milestone for Lola Cars. We are using the motorsport platform to create engaging content that not only benefits us, but also our sponsors."

Di Grassi & Maloney as "Superman"

The two Lola T001 cars in Berlin are no longer blue and yellow, instead the striking yellow is replaced by a bright red. The red upper part of the car is reminiscent of Superman's cape and extends to the rear. At the front, directly below the car, is an image of Superman from the newly released film. The blue and purple side panels read "Berlin look up".

Even more surprising, however, was the outfit worn by Lucas di Grassi and Zane Maloney. Their racing suits mimic the famous superhero suit. From the golden belt to the large "Superman" logo on the chest, everything is there. The only thing they will have to drop later on are the capes they wore at the presentation, as these do not comply with the Formula E regulations.

Whether the newfound superpower will help the team in Berlin remains to be seen. The race weekend in Tempelhof opens on 11 July at 4 p.m. with the first free practice session.
