e-Formula.news Season Awards 2025/26: Evans & Dennis beat champion Wehrlein in medal table

Formula E World Champion Pascal Wehrlein claimed three category wins at the e-Formula.news Season Awards 2025/26. Yet that was not enough to top the medal table: Mitch Evans and Jake Dennis collected four awards each. Most remarkably, Dennis managed it without winning a single gold medal. Further category wins went to Lucas di Grassi and rookie Pepe Marti, while Mahindra Racing was the surprise choice as Team of the Year.

As in the previous year, the awards were based partly on facts and statistics collected throughout the season. Other categories were decided by a vote among our expert panel. Here are the results!

Evans & Dennis ahead of Wehrlein: The 2025/26 Drivers' Medal Table

The distribution at the top is particularly striking: Evans won two gold medals among his four awards, while Dennis did not win a single category. Wehrlein, meanwhile, only made the podium three times - but took gold on every occasion.

Driver of the Year

Just as in the World Championship, Pascal Wehrlein also came out on top in our driver ratings. Across the season, the previous year's runner-up achieved an average score of 7.81, the highest of any Formula E driver. Our editorial team rates every driver after each race. Jake Dennis narrowly missed out with an average of 7.74 and took silver, while Mitch Evans claimed bronze with 7.60.

Team of the Year

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the Season Awards came from Mahindra Racing: the team that finished third in the Teams' World Championship is our Team of the Year. Mahindra topped the vote of our expert panel with 98 points. Previous winner Porsche took silver with 86 points, while Teams' World Champion Jaguar TCS Racing claimed bronze with 80.

Qualifier of the Year

Pascal Wehrlein was once again the strongest qualifying driver of the season. With an average starting position of 6.0, the German finished ahead of Antonio Felix da Costa, who started from an average position of 6.6. Edoardo Mortara took bronze with an average of 7.0.

Racer of the Year

Mitch Evans came out on top in the Racer of the Year category. With an average race result of 6.9, the departing Jaguar driver took gold ahead of Jake Dennis on 7.9. Previous winner Oliver Rowland claimed bronze after ending the season with an average race result of 8.4.

Mr Consistency

Only two drivers finished inside the top 10 in 12 of the season's 17 races: Mitch Evans and Jake Dennis. Their average finishing position in those points-scoring results therefore decided the gold medal. Evans averaged 4.2, narrowly beating Dennis on 4.4.

Edoardo Mortara took bronze. Like three other drivers, the Mahindra racer scored 11 top-10 finishes, but his average result of 4.5 was the best among them.

Rookie of the Year

There was only one driver on the 2025/26 grid who had never previously started a Formula E race: Pepe Marti. Felipe Drugovich and Joel Eriksson became full-time Formula E drivers for the first time, but both had already competed in races before this season.

With no substitute driver making a race start either, Marti was therefore the only eligible Rookie of the Year. That should not take anything away from his debut campaign, however: the Spaniard finished on the podium twice. The last Formula E rookie to achieve that was Jake Dennis with BMW i Andretti in Season 7.

Leader of the Year

No driver came close to Pascal Wehrlein when it came to laps led during the 2025/26 season. The World Champion spent 104 laps at the front of the field and comfortably secured gold. Antonio Felix da Costa took silver with 59 laps led, while championship runner-up Jake Dennis claimed bronze with 56.

Recovery drive of the Year

The biggest charge through the field came from Lucas di Grassi in the second race of the Shanghai E-Prix. Starting 18th, the Lola-Yamaha-ABT driver fought all the way through to victory in his final Formula E season, gaining 17 positions in the process.

Silver went to Mitch Evans, who also won from deep on the grid on the Sunday in Berlin. Starting 17th, he made up 16 places. Pepe Marti and Oliver Rowland share bronze: Marti in Sanya and Rowland on the Sunday in Berlin both started 18th and finished second, meaning each gained 16 positions.

Race of the Year

Our experts were particularly divided when choosing the Race of the Year. In the end, the Sunday race in Shanghai, which delivered Lucas di Grassi's final Formula E victory, narrowly came out on top with 50 points. The Madrid race took silver with 43 points, while the season finale in London claimed bronze.

Livery of the Year

The vote for Livery of the Year produced a much clearer result. Gold went to Porsche's historic London E-Prix livery with 86 points. Its white, blue, red and gold design paid tribute to several successful Porsche racing cars from the 1980s and 1990s.

Porsche also took silver: the "Pink Pig" livery used at the Berlin E-Prix, where Nico Muller claimed his first Formula E victory, scored 76 points with our expert panel. DS Penske took bronze with 45 points for the gold livery used for its Formula E farewell in London.
