Formula E held its sixth and seventh races of the 2024-25 Formula E World Championship season in Monaco last weekend. The first double-header in the Principality produced some interesting statistics, milestones and curiosities.

Statistical peculiarities at the Monaco E-Prix

  • Taylor Barnard achieved his second pole position in Formula E on Saturday. It was the sixth pole position for McLaren, bringing the team level with ABT (including Audi).
  • Dan Ticktum achieved his best qualifying result in Formula E with third place on the grid on Saturday.
  • Oliver Rowland secured the ninth pole position of his Formula E career on Sunday, equalling Mitch Evans.
  • Sebastien Buemi became the 19th driver this season to make it through to the qualifying duels on Sunday. This meant that all drivers apart from Nick Cassidy, Zane Maloney and Nico Müller did so in the 2024-25 season.
  • Antonio Felix da Costa was the 20th Porsche driver in a row to make it through to the duels. No team has ever achieved this before. The last duels without Porsche participation took place on the second day of the 2024 Diryah E-Prix.
  • Rowland celebrated his sixth Formula E victory on Saturday. He became only the second driver to win three of the first six races of the season, a feat previously only achieved by Buemi in Season 3.
  • For Nissan (including predecessor team e.dams), it was the 22nd victory in Formula E, putting the team ahead of Envision and Jaguar in the eternal leaderboard, both of whom have 17 race wins each.
  • Nyck de Vries scored his first podium since the 2022 London E-Prix on Saturday, when he finished third for Mercedes-EQ. For Mahindra, it was the second podium in the Gen3 era and the first since the 2023 season opener in Mexico City, when di Grassi finished third.
  • On Sunday, Buemi celebrated Formula E win number 14, the first since the 2019 New York City E-Prix almost six years ago. He thus became the only record winner in Formula E. For Envision, it was the first victory since Cassidy at the 2023 London E-Prix.
  • At the same time, it was the 3rd Monaco victory for the Swiss driver after 2015 and 2017, back then on the shortened track. He is the only driver to have won more than one Formula E race in the Principality.
  • Rowland scored his 18th Formula E podium on Sunday, for Cassidy it was podium number 21.
  • Mahindra scored 30 points in one race on Saturday, the best points haul since the 2018 Marrakesh E-Prix more than seven years ago. Back then, the team scored 31 points with race winner Felix Rosenqvist and Nick Heidfeld, who finished in 7th place.
  • Buemi became the third driver after Lucas di Grassi and Jean-Eric Vergne to score more than 1,000 points in Formula E.
  • With a 48-point lead after the Monaco E-Prix, Rowland has the biggest lead ever for a driver in Formula E after seven races of the season.
