There are less than three weeks until pre-season testing begins in Valencia. From 4 to 7 November, Maximilian Günther will get behind the wheel for his new team DS Penske for the first time in an official session. On Wednesday morning, the team released the season livery for the 2024/25 Formula E World Championship, and the similarities to this year's special livery of the team in Monaco are unmistakable.

The colour scheme is now much darker than last season. The DS E-TENSE FE25 uses gold solely as an accent colour on the otherwise deep black bodywork. The striking golden wheels have also been retained. Unlike in the Principality of Monaco, however, the white lettering of the sponsors and the team name, which were still gold there,

The aerodynamics of the DS car are also new. The Gen3 Evo not only has a new front wing and other aerodynamic gimmicks, but also a new MGU. The DS powertrain has been further developed over the past two years and is said to be much more efficient than its predecessor. It is therefore hoped that DS Penske may have closed the efficiency gap to Porsche and Jaguar.

Günther and Vergne want to maximise the car's potential

Jean-Eric Vergne is full of anticipation, as could be heard at the official presentation in Paris: "Now it's our job to make the car shine as much as the paintwork already makes it shine. I love it." Equally interesting for him is the technical development: "The front wing and the sides of the car now look more aerodynamic. It looks faster! The four-wheel drive in particular is a nice evolution. Now we just have to make it win."

Maximilian Günther also likes the look of the car: "The design makes the car look really fast." But what is more important to the former Maserati driver is finally getting into the car: "The team has worked very hard to make the car as fast as possible. I'm excited to finally be a part of this project."

This will be the case on 7 December, when Formula E holds its 2024/25 season opener in Sao Paulo. Before then, the pre-season test drives will take place in Valencia from 4 to 7 November.
