Pascal Wehrlein was crowned the first German Formula E world champion last season. But the Porsche works driver is far from satisfied. His goals are not limited to the electric series.

At the age of 30, Pascal Wehrlein has already achieved a lot in motorsport. He made headlines in 2015 when he became the youngest DTM champion in history at the age of 21. He competed in Formula 1 in the following two years, but although he was able to showcase his talent, this stint was not to last long.

Wehrlein eventually switched to Formula E, where he became world champion in 2024 - the next major success in a high-calibre and highly competitive championship. "I know that I can perform at an extremely high level and master difficult situations", he explains in the Porsche Newsroom.

In fact, Wehrlein proved at the season finale in London that he could win an unlikely title under maximum pressure - against top drivers such as Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy. "If I want something, I'll find a way to achieve it," says Wehrlein. Nevertheless, he points out: "The good moments are fewer than the days when things didn't go so well. You lose much more often than you win."

Early practice makes perfect

Wehrlein's journey in motorsport began early. At the age of five, he attended his first Formula 1 race at the Hockenheimring with his parents. He followed the other Grands Prix - including races with a significant time difference such as Melbourne - on screen. "I woke my father up shortly before the start to watch the race with him."

His father also accompanied him when Wehrlein first sat in a kart at the age of eight - as a mechanic and manager, so to speak. Even after school, Wehrlein would sit in front of the TV and watch old Formula 1 races. Ultimately, he made it to the destination of his childhood dreams.

He also recently took part in the 24 Hours of Daytona for Porsche. Despite his very successful motorsport career to date, he still has one big goal in mind: "Winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche is the dream of almost every racing driver. Mine too", says Wehrlein.
