On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March, Formula E and the FIA confirmed that a "Women's Test" will be held again during the preparations for the 2025/26 season. This time, the track time will be doubled to give female drivers even more opportunities to demonstrate their skills. Formula E and the FIA are thus continuing to pursue the goal of creating more diversity and inclusion in motorsport.

In November 2024, Formula E organised the women's test during pre-season testing for Season 11, with the eleven teams competing in the championship offering female drivers such as Abbi Pulling and Jamie Chadwick the opportunity to test the Gen3 Evo car - the same machine used by the regular drivers in the championship.

Last year's test appeared to be so successful that the International Automobile Federation and Formula E confirmed that it would take place again. The test is to be held again during the pre-season test - probably in Valencia. This time, however, it will be doubled from one to two sessions. The women will therefore have a whole day of testing at their disposal.

More diversity & inclusion remains the big goal

Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo expressed his excitement about the test: "We want to build on the success of the women's test last year and are therefore delighted to make the event even bigger and more important. We are extending the test to a full day with two long sessions. Our aim is to continue to break down the barriers for women in motorsport and offer them the same opportunities to showcase their skills - with the same resources as our championship drivers."

Pablo Marino, Head of Formula E at the FIA, said: "We are strongly focussed on developing the next generation of drivers for the Formula E World Championship. As part of this strategy, we are also committed to promoting diversity and inclusion. With this initiative, we are working with Formula E to create a level playing field for female and male drivers."

The pre-season test is expected to take place as usual in November at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. Next up for Formula E, however, is the fifth race of season 11, which will take place on 12 April at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
