Nick Cassidy has also won the final race of the 2024/25 Formula E season in London. The Jaguar driver confidently beat Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) and Sebastien Buemi (Envision) - with the second-largest lead in history. Porsche also had reason to celebrate: the team from Zuffenhausen was crowned team and manufacturer world champion for the first time. Jaguar overtook Nissan in the final race and secured second place in all three world championship rankings!

The season finale began without any major incidents. Nick Cassidy defended his pole position, followed by Max Günther and Mitch Evans. Behind them, everything remained orderly at first. Only Edo Mortara had to retire early with damage. As early as lap 3, Evans overtook his German rival Günther - the first double lead for Jaguar. One lap later, de Vries overtook Günther and Pascal Wehrlein also followed him.

It turned into an exciting race with many changes of position in the midfield. Particularly noticeable: Oliver Rowland made up several places in the first few laps and soon found himself in the top 5. Meanwhile, De Vries was also able to fight his way past Evans and was suddenly in second place behind Cassidy.

Incidents, penalties & safety car

The first major collision occurred on lap 16: Taylor Barnard clashed with Norman Nato - both drivers were relegated to the back of the field. This was a major setback for Nissan in the battle for the team and manufacturer championships. Race control called a full-course yellow. This was to have consequences for Evans, as the "Kiwi" drove too fast and ultimately lost second place due to a subsequent 5-second time penalty.

Towards the halfway point of the race, Müller fought his way forward with his second attack mode and attacked Rowland. On the start and finish straight, the two drove side by side towards turn 1. Rowland held off for too long, took a wide line and then drove into Müller's Andretti. The end for both! The safety car was sent out onto the track.

After the restart, there was another tough duel: Mitch Evans prevailed against de Vries with a surprise manoeuvre. Team-mate Cassidy pulled out a lead of more than three seconds at the front. Evans radioed several times for Cassidy to let him past to make up the penalty gap, but the front runner was too far ahead.

Buemi on the podium from P19, Beckmann scores points for the first time

With around seven laps to go, de Vries picked up his second attack mode and remained within striking distance of the Jaguar one-two. Cassidy and Evans also activated their final power boost and kept the pace high. The race calmed down briefly, but towards the end of the race it became tight behind Cassidy once again: Evans held off a trio of de Vries, Buemi and Jake Dennis.

Buemi put in a particularly strong performance: from 19th on the grid, the Envision driver steadily worked his way forwards and overtook Dennis for fourth place in the final phase. Due to the time penalty against Evans, the Swiss driver even finished third in the end - a remarkable end to the season for the experienced driver.

Dan Ticktum received two time penalties in the meantime: one for an incident under safety car conditions and one for a collision. Nevertheless, Kiro was able to celebrate a little: David Beckmann finished in 10th position and scored his first point in Formula E.

Cassidy finishes runner-up in the championship, Porsche wins both open titles

With his second victory of the London weekend, Nick Cassidy secured the runner-up spot in the drivers' championship. In the team classification, the title went to Porsche, who scored points again with Wehrlein and Dennis. This is the first ever team title in Formula E for the Porsche works team from Stuttgart. Jaguar overtook Nissan in the final race and took second place in both the team and manufacturer standings.

After an intense and exciting season, Formula E is taking a break. It will continue in late autumn with pre-season testing for season 12.
