Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein once again showed how much the track in Mexico City suits him in the second free practice session. He won the session with a time of 1:05.141 minutes. The top four were completed by Sebastien Buemi, Taylor Barnard and Wehrlein's team-mate Nico Müller. Antonio Felix da Costa (Jaguar) and Pepe Marti (Cupra Kiro), on the other hand, were unable to drive at all due to technical problems.
The second free practice session started on time at 07:30 local time in cold conditions in Mexico City. Most of the drivers set off promptly. Oliver Rowland initially took the lead with a time of 1:13.018 minutes. However, the times got faster and faster and were at a level of 1:07 minutes around 10 minutes after the start of the session.

Jaguar driver Antonio Felix da Costa was diagnosed with a defect before the start of training. According to team boss Ian James, it was a problem with the inverter, which had to be replaced. The Portuguese driver therefore got out of the car early and was unable to repair it by the end of the session.
Reigning world champion Rowland was still in first place in the timesheets. He was followed by Jean-Eric Vergne in second place and Jake Dennis in third. 18 drivers had set a time after around 20 minutes - in addition to Felix da Costa, Pepe Martin also appeared to have problems. Meanwhile, Andretti driver Dennis picked up a warning for a burnout in the pit lane.
Buemi initially leads by a large margin
15 minutes before the end of the race, the drivers went on the hunt for time again and continued to increase the pace, while Lucas di Grassi was investigated for low tyre pressure. Sebastien Buemi was in the lead with just under ten minutes to go, followed by Dennis and Rowland.
Both Porsche drivers were able to push forwards in the following minutes. However, nobody could match Buemi's time at first. At the end of the session, however, Wehrlein was able to beat Buemi's time with another 350-kW lap and took the lead with a time of 1:05.141 minutes. Buemi followed in 2nd place and Müller in 3rd place.
Next on the programme is qualifying from 4:40 pm (CET), which can of course be followed again in the e-Formula.news live ticker.
