Dan Ticktum (Kiro) also won the second free practice session at the Formula E Monaco E-Prix. He set a new track record, beating Jake Dennis (Andretti) into second place by almost two tenths of a second. Edo Mortara finished third in the Mahindra. Mitch Evans (Jaguar) and Oliver Rowland (Nissan) also made it into the top five, while world champion Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) had to settle for seventh place.

As was the case early on Saturday morning, the second free practice session was only scheduled for 30 minutes. After six minutes, the first serious lap time appeared on the screens: Pascal Wehrlein, who was already second fastest in FP1, climbed to first place. Then the Nissan powertrains initially set the pace: Sam Bird (McLaren) set the fastest time after ten minutes, followed by Oliver Rowland (Nissan). The world champion countered two minutes later, but Rowland was again faster - four tenths faster than the track record from the first practice session!

Towards the halfway point of the session, Taylor Barnard moved up to third place, followed by Jean-Eric Vergne. Then FP1 winner Dan Ticktum turned up the heat and took the lead by more than three tenths of a second! His Kiro team-mate David Beckmann was also part of the leading group in fifth place. Eight minutes before the end, Jaguar finally made its presence felt: Mitch Evans climbed to second position with a best time in the first sector. The two Lola drivers, on the other hand, were unable to cope at all: Zane Maloney and Lucas di Grassi were at least 3.1 seconds off the lead by then.

The track was now getting noticeably faster. Jake Dennis improved to second place, followed by Edo Mortara. Jake Hughes braked in turn 1 and spun in the run-off zone. A little later, Vergne suffered the same fate. The final minutes of the race were once again crowded - all 22 drivers were out at the same time. However, there were no more significant improvements. Ticktum also won the second session of the weekend! The first qualifying session at the Monaco E-Prix starts at 10:40 (CEST) - also available to watch in the live ticker on e-Formula.news.
