Pascal Wehrlein was the fastest man in Formula E's third free practice session in Tokyo. The Porsche driver narrowly beat the track record set on Friday and outpaced Nissan driver Norman Nato. Third in an extremely uneventful session was Jake Hughes in the Maserati.
In contrast to the previous day, the rain had disappeared - finally a dry track again in Tokyo! Accordingly, the teams were in a hurry to collect meaningful data for the second day of racing. Pascal Wehrlein was the fastest in the first ten minutes after Porsche had experienced a difficult day on Saturday. Then Zane Maloney was the first to arrive in attack mode and was around a second faster. However, not much worth mentioning happened in the first half of the session. Antonio Felix da Costa's best time was a good four tenths slower than Norman Nato's track record in the first free practice session.
It wasn't until around 24 minutes into the session that things started to happen again at the front: Nato first took first place, then Wehrlein broke the previous lap record with a lap time of 1:12:011 minutes. Dan Ticktum and Taylor Barnard also moved up into the top 5. While David Beckmann touched the wall slightly in turn 9, Wehrlein improved once again in sectors 2 and 3. Others also went on the hunt for times again, but to no avail. Oliver Rowland braked too late and had to turn round in the run-off area.

There were no more relevant position changes. Wehrlein won one of the most uneventful sessions in Formula E history ahead of Nato, Jake Hughes, Jean-Eric Vergne and Ticktum. Qualifying on Sunday will take place at 3:20 am (CEST). As always, e-Formula.news will provide you with a live ticker.
