Today, Tuesday 27 April, Jaguar TCS Racing officially announced that they will part ways with long-time regular driver Mitch Evans at the end of the season. Evans has been the face of the Jaguar Formula E programme for 10 years, winning a record-breaking 15 race wins with the team - the most ever by a driver in Formula E.
His career statistics don't just include these victories, however, but together they have achieved a total of 21 podiums, 10 pole positions and 1064 points in 132 race starts. The greatest success of the collaboration was the world championship title in the 2024 team classification, with Evans himself narrowly missing out on the drivers' title twice and finishing runner-up twice.
Evans’ first team switch in Formula E
Jaguar entered Formula E at the start of Season 3 in 2016, with Mitch Evans forming part of its driver line-up from day one. For the New Zealander, it has been a great honour to have spent so long with the team.
“It has been incredible to be part of Jaguar TCS Racing from the very beginning and to have celebrated so much success in Formula E over the past ten years. There have been so many highlights along the way, but now the time has come to take on a new challenge next season.”
Before then, Evans still has eleven races left to contest with the British outfit.
Thank you, Mitch 🖤

At the end of the 2026 season, Mitch and the team will part ways.
A relentless pursuit of perfection has cemented Mitch’s place in the history books as the most successful Jaguar driver of all time.

One final title push together
After two scoreless races at the start of the season, Jaguar TCS Racing has put together a string of very strong results. The team sits second in the teams’ championship, directly behind Porsche, while Evans is third in the drivers’ standings. Despite the impending split, Team Principal Ian James says the objective remains to maximise success: "At Jaguar TCS Racing, we will do everything in our power to continue supporting Mitch in his bid for the Drivers’ title and to keep fighting for the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships."
The generational change coming next season represents a major shake-up for the electric racing series. In addition, four further Formula E seats will be available at Opel and Porsche’s second factory team. Rumours suggest that a move for Evans to Opel is far from unrealistic, meaning this announcement could well signal the start of the next "silly season". The coveted Jaguar seat, meanwhile, could give Stoffel Vandoorne a route back to a full-time race seat.
For now, however, the full focus is on the upcoming race weekend in the German capital, Berlin. From 1 May, Formula E will be back at full power at Tempelhof Airport.
