The anniversary season of Formula E was impressive. The races, which often remained exciting until the last lap, clearly fascinated numerous fans: as Formula E recently announced, almost 380 million people actively followed the electric racing series - an increase of 23 per cent compared to season 9. The series recorded the largest increase - 35 per cent - in global TV figures.

As a result, Formula E claimed to be the fastest growing motorsport series and was able to make up ground on Formula 1 and Moto GP. This was also due to a sustained increase in media coverage, the series writes. In addition to the 491 million TV viewers, fans interacted with Formula E's official posts on its social media channels more than a billion times. By far the most fans reportedly come from China: almost 118 million.

Record number of spectators at the Monaco race

The E-Prix in Monaco was particularly worth seeing for the fans. The race in the Principality not only surpassed the season finale, but also the most-watched race of the last season. 40 million viewers officially followed the Jaguar one-two victory - more than ever before in Formula E history. A total of five other races broke the previous spectator record.

According to Formula E, the fans of Formula E particularly appreciate the focus on innovation. Spectators see the direct exchange between innovations on the racetrack and innovations in the general electric car industry as a major difference to other racing classes. The biggest other plus point is the excitement on the track - Formula E in 2024 was more exciting than ever before.

Jeff Dodds sets his sights on further milestones

Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds is over the moon with the figures: "I am delighted to announce these impressive results, which demonstrate the continued growth of our global fan base and the increase in our worldwide television audience and social media followers. We continue to pursue bold ambitions and this data demonstrates our commitment."

For him, it is clear that season 11 will once again top the statistics: "Thanks to our loyal and growing fan base, our partners and broadcasters, we will continue to push the boundaries as the loudest, but at the same time quietest motorsport championship in the world," says Dodds. Formula E will kick off its eleventh season in early December with the new and faster Gen3 Evo cars.
