McLaren will race in a special livery at the season finale in London before retiring at the end of the current season. The livery is in honour of the partnership between the NEOM McLaren Formula E Teams and Oxagon - an industrial city being developed as part of the Neom project. For McLaren Team Principal Ian James and Oxagon CEO Vishal Wanchoo, the special design represents a partnership that goes beyond motorsport and emphasises their mutual ambition for industrial change.

The design was unveiled on Wednesday during McLaren Racing Live London, a two-day fan event taking place in Trafalgar Square. It was created in collaboration between the two brands and combines new, dynamic colours with the papaya that is already familiar and synonymous with McLaren. The blue "away kit" is intended to symbolise Oxagon's ambition in terms of an industrial revolution. The racing suits of Sam Bird and Taylor Barnard are also colour-coordinated accordingly.

James: "A purposeful alternate livery"

"This special edition livery offers a fresh take on our existing design," says Ian James, Team Principal of the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team. "It's a purposeful alternate livery that shines a light on Oxagon, one of NEOM’s key regions. It represents more than bold visuals; it symbolises a partnership rooted in innovation, collaboration and real-world industrial transformation."

"Our work with the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team demonstrates how cross-industry partnerships can accelerate sustainable transformation. By combining McLaren’s performance and efficiency with Oxagon’s vision for clean, connected manufacturing, we’re advancing the kind of innovation that is shaping the future of industry," added Vishal Wanchoo, CEO of Oxagon.

The partnership between Neom and McLaren will end after this season, as McLaren decided to leave Formula E a few months ago. This makes the double header in London on 26 and 27 July the perfect opportunity for the special livery. The team had already used a special livery in London in 2023, which had been generated with the help of AI.
