The two German female racing drivers Sophia Flörsch (Nissan) and Carrie Schreiner (Maserati) will get the chance to drive the new Gen3 Evo racing car as part of the 2024 pre-season test in Madrid. Both are taking part in the first official and exclusive women's test in the history of the electric racing series and can hardly wait.
For Flörsch, who has already taken part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, it is a premiere in Formula E. After her serious accident in Macau in 2018, she had to miss out on a test opportunity in Diriyah - her compatriot Schreiner, of all people, stepped in. Now the time has finally come for the 23-year-old.
"I'm very excited to get the chance to drive the most modern Formula E car. It will be very different to my previous experiences in motorsport, but I'm always interested in trying new things," says Flörsch. "I'm highly motivated to get everything out of the test and do my best to help the team prepare for the eleventh season."
She has spent a lot of time in the simulator to prepare as well as possible for the test and to be able to deliver her best possible performance. "I'm looking forward to getting into the cockpit and seizing this incredible opportunity," said the driver from Munich, who is testing for the Nissan works team together with Briton Abbi Pulling.
"Important opportunity for female drivers to make a name for themselves in the Formula E world"
Carrie Schreiner, who comes from Völklingen (Saarland), already had the opportunity to take a seat in a Formula E car in 2018, back then for HWA Racelab. She is full of excitement and ready for her second outing, which she will complete together with Colombian Tatiana Calderon for Maserati MSG Racing.
"This test is an important opportunity for female drivers to make a name for themselves in the world of Formula E," says Schreiner. "I am proud to have been selected by Maserati MSG Racing to take part in the test in Valencia."
"Driving a Formula E car is a unique and challenging experience. The car behaves differently to any other," says the 26-year-old. "After a successful seat adjustment and an intensive simulation session, I feel ready for the big day and I'm looking forward to showing the team what I can do."
Following the postponement of the pre-season tests from Valencia to Madrid at short notice, Formula E has postponed the women's test to Friday afternoon (2-5pm).
