More carbon, less papaya: McLaren presents car livery for eleventh Formula E season

Just before Formula E testing in Valencia, the British team Neom McLaren has also presented its car livery for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The racing team from Woking will compete in papaya as usual, but the amount of colour on the car has been reduced. Instead, significantly more areas have a dark carbon look.
"Our livery for the upcoming Formula E season is a demonstration of the development of the Neom McLaren Formula E Team over the last two seasons," says team principal Ian James, explaining the new look. "In preparation for the upcoming season, the team has been working hard to build on the knowledge we have gained as Neom McLaren in Formula E so far. I can't wait to see the team in action with this new livery."
Sam Bird, who claimed the first Formula E victory for McLaren in Sao Paulo last year, will have another season with the team. "I'm looking forward to my second season with the Neom McLaren Formula E Team. We did a good job in our first season together. Now it's time to build on that and create even better memories in my second year with the team."

Taylor Barnard, who has already gained racing experience in his tenth season, succeeds Jake Hughes at McLaren and takes over the number 5 car. "I'm very excited to be driving for the Neom McLaren Formula E Team in season 11. In season 10, I was the team's reserve and development driver. I learnt a lot during this time and put my knowledge into practice in Monaco and Berlin."
"I'm looking forward to driving alongside Sam this season and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from him," Barnard continued. "He's one of the most experienced drivers on the grid and I hope we can score a lot of points together and collect some trophies for the team. I can't wait to get started."
If the pre-season tests in Valencia can take place, both drivers would take to the track in new colours as early as next Monday. The season starts on 7 December in Sao Paulo - a good place for McLaren...
