Nissan, third in the Team World Championship of the past Formula E season, confirmed its driver duo for the coming season on Thursday morning: The team will compete with world champion Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato. This means that Nissan will start with an unchanged driver pairing for the first time since Season 7. Reserve driver Sergio Sette Camara, who took part in the Berlin E-Prix, will not be promoted to regular driver.

Rowland's retention was only a formality. After his return in 2023, the Brit established himself as the clear number one in the team and clearly outperformed both Nato and his predecessor Sacha Fenestraz. With six race wins, eight further podium finishes and five pole positions, he scored a total of 340 of the team's 389 points in the past two seasons.

The situation was different for Nato: the Frenchman finished the past season in 20th place in the overall standings and lost out to Rowland on points with 21 to 184. However, as replacement driver Sette Camara was also unable to impress at the Berlin E-Prix when he stood in for Nato, who was unable to compete in a WEC race with Cadillac, the team extended the Frenchman's contract.

Nato, who has raced for Venturi, Jaguar, Nissan and Andretti in the past, will have the opportunity to compete for a team for two consecutive seasons for the first time in his Formula E career. In his 63 Formula E starts, the Frenchman has achieved one pole position, one victory and two further podium finishes.

"Following a very successful season, we've decided to maintain our driver line-up for Season 12," said Nissan Team Principal Tommaso Volpe. "I am sure that the stability and consistency that we’ve built with both Oli and Norman will help us continue our remarkable progression and fight for all three championships again next season."

"I’m thrilled to sign with Nissan Formula E Team on a multi-year deal, in what will be my sixth season with the squad," said Oliver Rowland. "What we've managed to achieve following my return in 2023/24 has been remarkable. Since I came to Formula E, the team has felt like my home, and I have a high level of trust with them as well as plenty of support. The aim for Season 12 is to replicate and improve on what we did last campaign, but we know how hard we need to work in the off-season to achieve the best results possible."

"I'm delighted to continue with Nissan Formula E Team for another season," says Norman Nato. "It was always the target to extend my stay here. It'll be my third campaign with the team and my second consecutive one, which gives me a lot of confidence moving forward. I still have plenty of areas to improve on, but I'm not starting from scratch this year so I can use factors I've learned in Season 11 to help me in the future. I'm sure Oli will perform at a very high level again and I'm positive that together we can fight for the Teams' Championship."

The 2025-26 Formula E World Championship season opener will take place on 6 December in Sao Paulo (Brazil). However, the pre-season tests will take place first at the end of October, which will be held again this year in Valencia, Spain.
