Norman Nato's resurrection and Porsche's masterstroke: The e-Formula.news driver rating for the 2025 Miami E-Prix

The Miami E-Prix was overshadowed by its less than glorious ending, which robbed some of the weekend's best drivers of a well-deserved result. However, the editors of e-formula.news at least rewarded the unlucky drivers with top ratings. They include Norman Nato, who crossed the finish line in first place, and Antonio Felix da Costa, who at one point looked like a sure winner. Jake Hughes, on the other hand, could have saved himself the trip to the USA with his performance.
After each round of Formula E Season 11, our editors award points on a scale between 1 and 10 for all drivers. They are then sorted according to their average "rating score". The rating is based exclusively on driving performance, not the potential of the car or external circumstances.
Antonio Felix Da Costa | TAG Heuer Porsche | 9.8
Antonio Felix da Costa drove a perfect race. With the help of Pascal Wehrlein and amazingly good energy management, the Portuguese driver put himself in a position to pull away from the rest of the field for the final laps. The only reason why he did not win was the red flag, which was waved shortly after his decisive attack mode was activated. Third place in the end is little more than punishing bad luck on his part.
Norman Nato | Nissan | 9.4
Norman Nato gets really fast when the air around him gets thin. A disastrous start to the season for the Frenchman had previously indicated that he would not finish the season at Nissan. In Miami, he is suddenly the measure of all things and even outpaces his team-mate Oliver Rowland. There is little to criticise about his performance. However, he urgently needs something like this to become the norm and not just a once-a-year occurrence.
Pascal Wehrlein | TAG Heuer Porsche | 8.8
Pascal Wehrlein's race seemed to be sacrificed for Felix da Costa's victory for a long time. The reigning world champion was clearly behind in terms of energy and did everything he could to help his team-mate to the best starting position for victory. In the end, the victory was more down to luck than pure performance. But where it mattered, he delivered and gave Porsche the win.
Flop of the E-Prix: Jake Hughes | Maserati MSG Racing | 2.7
Jake Hughes won't want to waste many more thoughts on Miami. The normally excellent qualifier was outclassed by his team-mate and only started from the back row. In the race, the Briton sinked to the back of the midfield until he finally ended up in the wall after a collision and destroyed the car. The eight-week break did not suit Hughes, as he finished on the podium in Jeddah last time out!
