Official: Citroen Racing confirms Nick Cassidy and Jean-Eric Vergne for the 2026/27 Formula E season

Citroen Racing has confirmed its driver line-up for Formula E Season 13. Jean-Eric Vergne and Nick Cassidy will remain with the French team for the first season of the new GEN4 car. Both drivers are already heavily involved in developing the new car, which is scheduled to make its racing debut in December.

While the current Formula E season approaches its final two races in London, Citroen is already preparing for the GEN4 era. Having previously confirmed its commitment to the championship’s new generation of car, the manufacturer has now announced that it will continue with Jean-Eric Vergne and Nick Cassidy in Season 13.

The pair have made a combined 248 Formula E starts. Vergne has competed in the all-electric championship since its inaugural season and has recorded eleven victories and 38 podium finishes across 156 races. The Frenchman won the drivers’ title in 2017/18 and 2018/19, becoming the first and so far only driver to win consecutive Formula E championships.

Cassidy has contested 92 races since making his Formula E debut. The New Zealander has claimed twelve victories and 28 podium finishes. He finished runner-up in the drivers’ championship in 2023 and 2025, while also taking third place in the 2023/24 season.

Nick Cassidy: "A completely new challenge"
