New reorganisation at Stellantis in Formula E: one year after Maserati's withdrawal, DS Automobiles will also be leaving the electric racing series at the end of the season. This marks the end of an era: the French brand has the longest history in the Formula E World Championship of all the manufacturers currently still active.

DS Automobiles began its Formula E involvement in Season 2 as a technical partner of the Virgin Racing team (now Envision). In the Gen2 era, it switched to Techeetah as a powertrain supplier and had its most successful period in Formula E.

Jean-Eric Vergne (2019) and Antonio Felix da Costa (2020) both won the Formula E drivers' title with the DS Techeetah team, while Techeetah also clinched the team championship in both years. In the Gen3 era, DS Automobiles then became a partner of Penske. The team won three races together: Vergne won in Hyderabad in 2023, Max Günther was victorious in Jeddah and Shanghai in 2025.

DS Automobiles will realign its sporting and technological strategy at the end of season 12 and focus on golf and the partnership with SailGP Team France in the future.

"After eleven years of pioneering involvement in Formula E, 18 victories, two drivers' titles and two constructors' titles, DS Automobiles has demonstrated its ability to transform competition into technological reality," said Xavier Peugeot, CEO of DS Automobiles.

"This is illustrated by our latest models DS N°4, DS N°7 and DS N°8. To further drive French excellence, we are now taking the next step. We are aligning our partnership strategy with SailGP - a unique innovation laboratory where technological performance and emotion come together."

The Stellantis Group has not yet announced a successor brand for the Formula E commitment. However, a major press conference is planned for tomorrow, Friday, in Madrid.
