Only Mitch Evans beats local hero Pascal Wehrlein! The e-Formula.news driver rating for the 2026 Berlin E-Prix

FIA Formula E
Formula E was back in Germany last weekend. As every year, we were treated to a spectacle at the former Tempelhof Airport. Nico Müller's first career victory and Mitch Evans' record win number 16 were the positive highlights of the weekend. While Evans also took victory by a wafer-thin margin in our rating, Müller narrowly missed out on the podium due to a weak race on Sunday. The second German driver in the field, Maximilian Günther, had a disappointing weekend.
After each round of Formula E Season 12, our editors award points on a scale between 1 and 10 for all drivers. They are then sorted according to their average "rating score". The rating is based exclusively on driving performance, not the potential of the car or external circumstances.
Mitch Evans | Jaguar TCS Racing | 9.4
The race weekend in Berlin was an unusual one for Evans following the announcement that he would be leaving Jaguar at the end of the season. However, Evans did not allow his decision to affect his performance in the car. On Saturday, he ensured a solid points haul with 6th place, before working his magic once again on Sunday. Starting from 17th place, he was able to win the race after a perfectly executed strategy and a lot of patience! An incredible performance, he just needs to work on his qualifying pace.
Pascal Wehrlein | Porsche | 9.2
But the fastest man of the weekend was probably Pascal Wehrlein. In every session, it seemed as if the German was the one to beat. His qualifying pace in particular was untouchable with a pole position and a second place despite bent steering on Saturday. The races were less fortunate. In the first race he dropped to the back of the field with tyre damage, and the next day he was not on the best possible strategy. Nevertheless, the 18 points from Berlin are important points for the world championship.
Oliver Rowland | Nissan | 9.0
Weekends like this crowned Oliver Rowland world champion last season. The Brit is a master of consistency and always finds a way to score points even in the trickiest of situations. In Berlin, it was his good nose for strategy that brought him success. On Saturday, he hung in the slipstream of lapped cars and delayed the pit stop further than the team had planned. On Sunday, he suggested that Nissan save the tyres in qualifying so that he could start the race further back but with fresher rubber. These decisions were decisive for his two podium finishes!
Flop of the E-Prix: Maximilian Günther | DS Penske | 4.2
Although Max Günther had his home race in Berlin, his dogged run of points-less results was set to continue. The DS Penske driver has not scored a single point since the season opener in December. Berlin once again showed nothing other than what has been evident all year: DS Penske is struggling with consistency and is nowhere near as competitive as it was last season. Günther's races in Berlin were unremarkable and strategically too immature to finish in the top 10.
