[05/15 | 3:45 pm] Formula E legend and current Nissan reserve driver Sam Bird has become a father for the first time. On Tuesday before the Monaco E-Prix, his partner Jess Impiazzi gave birth to their son. The little man has been named Freddie Charlie James Bird.

>>> Edoardo Mortara ambassador of the "FIA Smart Driving Challenge"

[05/15 | 3:33 pm] As the FIA announced together with Mahindra driver Edoardo Mortara, the Swiss driver will take part in the FIA Smart Driving Challenge (FIA SDC) as an ambassador this Formula E season, together with ten other drivers. Now in its eighth year, the FIA SDC is a competition that rewards smart, safe and environmentally friendly driving. Drivers use the FIA SDC app to connect to their car and the app does the rest. It measures performance in terms of safety and sustainability and provides scores and feedback.

Interested parties can join their chosen ambassador's team in the FIA SDC app, giving them access to exclusive content and insights as well as key statistics on their individual and team performance.

Mahindra driver Edoardo Mortara on his participation: "As Formula E pushes sustainable innovations to their limit on the track, the FIA Smart Driving Challenge is bringing safer and more sustainable driving to the road. I'm excited to get started and help my SDC team become smarter drivers."

The FIA SDC runs until December 2026 and consists of seven rounds. The top 20 drivers will qualify for the Playoffs, where they will compete for two places in the live Grande Finale in December. The winner will be crowned the "World's Smartest Driver".

[05/15 | 3:27 pm] On the Wednesday before the Monaco E-Prix weekend (13 May 2026), the first Monte Carlo Tee Prix took place in the Principality. The charitable golf tournament was organised by Princess Charlene's foundation. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were also in attendance.

The team around DS Penske driver Maximilian Günther, who competed together with influencers Seb Delanney, Emma Houlmiere and Mathilde Ostrowski, ended up winning the tournament.

>>> Doriane Pin announced as Citroen development driver

[05/15 | 3:21 pm] Citroen Racing has announced French racing driver Doriane Pin as a development driver. The 22-year-old won the F1 Academy in 2025 and is currently also working as a development driver for Mercedes in Formula 1 and Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship WEC.

Pin says of her new role: "As a French driver, it’s a special feeling to join Citroen. It’s a brand with a strong motorsport heritage, and being part of that story means a lot. I’m excited to get started and to build something together."

[05/15 | 3:15 pm]The Evo Sessions took place in Jeddah on 15 February 2026: A competition in which influencers competed against each other in the Gen3 Evo racing cars. The event was accompanied by Formula E on social media. The racing series has now published a documentary about the event, which can be viewed on the official Formula E YouTube channel.

[05/15 | 3:10 pm]Andretti ambassador Nerea Marti, racing driver and Formula E consultant James Rossiter and Lola Yamaha ABT driver Lucas di Grassi spoke to kids in the Principality ahead of the Formula E race weekend in Monaco. >>> Cupra Kiro with a special livery in Monaco

[05/15 | 3:13 pm] Cupra Kiro shows up at the Monaco race weekend with a slightly different livery. The cars of Dan Ticktum and Pepe Marti have a livery in the Principality with motifs from the brand new "Masters of the Universe" film. Cupra Kiro co-owner Idris Elba also plays a role in the film and is depicted on the car.

A special feature, as Jon Wilde, Commercial Director of Cupra Kiro points out: "Having Idris [Elba] featured directly on the side of the car as part of the livery makes the activation even more unique and, as far as we’re aware, marks the first time in motorsport that a team Co-Owner has appeared on a race car in this way."

[05/15 | 3:05 pm] For the three drivers Maximilian Günther, Norman Nato and Mitch Evans, who have called Monaco their home for several years now, the "double-header" in the Principality is something very special. >>> The Geissens at the track in Monaco

[05/15 | 2:55 pm] The German fashion designers and reality TV stars, who presented the winner's trophy to then Jaguar driver Nick Cassidy in Berlin in season 11, will be on site this race weekend in Monaco. The Geissens are at home in the Principality and have already met with German DS Penske driver Max Günther in the pit lane before the race.

>>> Andretti to take part in Nissan test soon

[05/15 | 2:33 pm] As reported by FE Notebook, the Andretti team, which recently announced its separation from Porsche at the end of the season, will attend a private Nissan Gen4 test in Spain at the end of this month. Rumours that Andretti will become a Nissan customer team next season have been around for some time.

Andretti team boss Roger Griffiths refused to confirm any specific plans, but explained that any integration with a new partner would take into account current commitments to Porsche. "We have to be mindful of what's written into the agreements on both sides to ensure that we are siloing the information" said Griffiths. "There is no transfer of information, either with our current partner or our future partner. We have to respect those confidentiality things, and it's something as a team that we’re not afraid of doing. We’ve been in this position before and we’re very good at partitioning things, so there isn’t any fear of information going in either direction."

[05/15 | 2:25 pm] The Swedish rally, rallycross and Extreme H driver Kevin Hansen is visiting the Monaco E-Prix. The driver was spotted at the track by e-Formula.news on Friday.

>>> David Coulthard drives Gen4 car in Monaco

[05/15/ 2:05 pm] On Sunday, the Gen4 race car will be seen on the track in Monaco shortly after the end of the 3rd free practice session. According to information from e-Formula.news, former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard will drive the car around the circuit in the Principality at 9:25 a.m.
