Pascal Wehrlein secured victory in the fourth race of the 2025/26 Formula E World Championship season in Jeddah to take the lead in the championship standings. The German and his Porsche team put in a strong race and were particularly impressive strategically.

The pit boost was used for the first time in season 12, an element that requires the teams to make additional strategic decisions. The recharging pit stop in Formula E was introduced in season 11 and further developed this season. Due to the mandatory fast charging in the race, the correct timing of the stop becomes much more important, while purely saving energy on the track is less of a priority.

Porsche implemented this feature most effectively and was rewarded with a place at the top of the podium. The fact that the team is currently performing so strongly is no great surprise: Porsche has been in top form since the start of the season. This trend was also confirmed on the street circuit in Jeddah.

Wehrlein with a challenge: "Of course we want to win both races"

Wehrlein felt comfortable throughout the entire race weekend and was already consistently up front in the sessions before the race. He was correspondingly satisfied afterwards: "We were strong all weekend", he said and added: "I hope we are tomorrow too - then we'll see what happens."

His 100th Formula E race, however, was characterised by a chaotic start. Wehrlein spoke of intense duels, but praised his team's tactics: "What we did strategically worked. We were able to open up exactly the gap we had planned." The pit boost format made the race very different from the usual Formula E races. The classic energy management took a back seat. "We didn't have to manage the energy so much, which I liked. This makes qualifying more important", explained Wehrlein.

With a view to the second race of the weekend, he was optimistic: "Of course we want to win both races. That doesn't happen often, but I think we have a good chance." Whether Porsche and Wehrlein can win again in Jeddah will be revealed on Saturday from 18:05. As always, e-Formula.news will be reporting on the race in our live ticker.
