With three podium finishes in the first four races of the season, McLaren driver Taylor Barnard is second in the drivers' standings of the 2024/25 Formula E World Championship after the Jeddah E-Prix. However, Barnard already made an impressive debut as a substitute for the injured Sam Bird last year. However, it was not the only impressive debut in the electric series.

Youngest Formula E driver, youngest points scorer, youngest driver on the podium, youngest pole-sitter: Barnard has broken several records in Formula E in recent months. But are the 56 points he scored in his first seven Formula E races really a record in the electric championship? Or are there drivers who were even more successful in their first seven races than the young Briton? We have picked out the ten most successful Formula E drivers after their seventh race start.

10th place: Antonio Felix da Costa | 1 win, 1 podium, 0 pole positions, 45 points

Antonio Felix da Costa is in 10th place in this ranking. The Portuguese driver initially competed in the DTM alongside his Formula E commitment, which is why he had to skip the very first Formula E race in Beijing in 2014. His surprising victory in Buenos Aires in 2015 also meant that he had 45 points after his seventh Formula E race in Berlin.

9th place: Jerome d'Ambrosio | 0 wins, 0 podiums, 0 pole positions, 52 points

Jerome d'Ambrosio is the only driver on this list who did not achieve a podium finish in his first seven Formula E races. Nevertheless, he made it to 9th place after finishing in the points six times. His first podium finish came in the eighth race: He won the Berlin E-Prix after the actual race winner Lucas di Grassi was disqualified. Today, d'Ambrosio is deputy team principal at the Ferrari Formula 1 team.

8th place: Jean-Eric Vergne | 0 wins, 1 podium, 3 pole positions, 55 points

A big name in Formula E occupies 8th place in this list: Jean-Eric Vergne joined the electric series after his Formula 1 retirement for the third round of the season in Punte del Este and proved his great speed, especially in qualifying. Nobody else managed three pole positions in his first seven Formula E races.

7th place: Taylor Barnard | 0 wins, 3 podiums, 1 pole position, 56 points

Taylor Barnard, by far the most successful Formula E newcomer of the Gen3 era, “only” made it to 7th place. However, considering the fact that - unlike most of the other drivers on this list - he has a lot of competitors who have significantly more experience in the racing series, this is an outstanding achievement!

6th place: Sam Bird | 1 win, 2 podiums, 0 pole positions, 64 points

Sam Bird, Barnard's current team-mate at McLaren, is directly ahead of him in this ranking. By winning the second Formula E race in Putrajaya, he started a unique run of success in which he would achieve at least one race win in seven consecutive seasons.

5th place: Felix Rosenqvist | 1 win, 2 podiums, 1 pole position, 65 points

Felix Rosenqvist is the best-placed driver in this list who did not make his debut in Season 1. The Swede drove for Mahindra Racing in Season 3 and secured pole position and a podium in his second race in Marrakesh, eventually winning his first E-Prix in Berlin. Rosenqvist currently drives in the IndyCar Series as well as an Acura prototype in the IMSA sports car series.

4th place: Nicolas Prost | 1 win, 2 podiums, 2 pole positions, 77 points

You probably wouldn't expect Nicolas Prost to be so high up on this list. But in season 1, the son of four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost was one of the top drivers in the racing series. Had it not been for the famous collision with Nick Heidfeld on the last lap of the Beijing E-Prix, he would be even higher up the list. After the Gen1 era, the Frenchman retired from Formula E and now drives in GT racing.

3rd place: Sebastien Buemi | 2 wins, 3 podiums, 2 pole positions, 83 points

A really big name in Formula E is in third place: Sebastien Buemi is the only driver to win two of his first seven races. After his success in Punta del Este, he also crossed the finish line first in Monaco - here even from pole position.

2nd place: Nelson Piquet jr. | 1 win, 4 podiums, 0 pole positions, 89 points

The first Formula E champion in history takes second place in this ranking. Nelson Piquet won in Long Beach and also finished on the podium in the races in Punta del Este, Buenos Aires and Monaco. 89 points in seven races is an excellent result, but one driver was even better...

1st place: Lucas di Grassi | 1 win, 5 podiums, 0 pole positions, 93 points

First place also goes to a Brazilian: Lucas di Grassi not only won the very first Formula E race in Beijing, but also finished on the podium in Putrajaya, Punta del Este, Long Beach and Monaco. Will another driver manage to collect so many points in his first seven races? With the current points system, that is more than unlikely.
