As with every Formula E race, the race stewards of the FIA have the task of checking compliance with the Technical and Sporting Regulations at the first double-header in Formula E history in Monaco. If an offence is found, they must also decide on the penalty. As usual, you will find a list of all decisions made by the Formula E race stewards in this article.

At the 2025 Monaco E-Prix, Jean-Francois Calmes, David Fuentes and Fillipo Lora will take on this task. They will be supported by driver steward Alexander Sims. Sims is no stranger to Formula E fans. He drove the cars for both BMW i Andretti and Mahindra in the electric racing series. By the time he retired in 2022, the Briton had won one race and achieved three pole positions.

Penalties in free practice on Saturday

  • Antonio Felix da Costa received a reprimand for holding up Nyck de Vries in the Rascasse area during the first free practice session. If a driver receives three reprimands during a season, he automatically receives a grid penalty of ten places.
  • Jean-Eric Vergne was fined 2,500 euros because the tyre pressure on his car was below the minimum value specified by tyre manufacturer Hankook in the second free practice session.

Penalties during the race on Saturday

  • Jake Dennis received a time penalty of five seconds for exceeding the speed limit of 50 km/h during the full-course yellow. Dennis also received a penalty point. As his team-mate Nico Müller opened up a large gap behind him by deliberately slowing down shortly before the end of the race, he nevertheless retained his third place.
  • David Beckmann subsequently received a drive-through penalty, which was converted into a time penalty of 33 seconds. Beckman also received an additional penalty point on his racing licence. The Kiro driver had fallen short of the minimum standing time of 34 seconds at the pit boost pit stop. He therefore dropped from 15th to 17th place.
  • Jake Hughes subsequently received a five-second time penalty for causing a collision with Zane Maloney. Hughes also received a penalty point for this action. However, the penalty had no effect and he remained in 16th place even with the five extra seconds.

Penalties in free practice on Sunday

  • Oliver Rowland received a three places grid penalty that was suspended for the rest of the season. Rowland had left the pitlane despite the red flags being waved and the red lights at the end of the pitlane due to Ticktum's car rolling out.

Penalties during the race on Sunday

  • Jake Hughes received a time penalty of five seconds for causing a collision with David Beckmann. He also received a penalty point on his racing licence. While Beckmann suffered a puncture and dropped back a long way, the time penalty against Hughes had no effect and he remained in 17th place.
  • Taylor Barnard received a time penalty of five seconds for violating the track limits three times. He also received two penalty points. However, the time penalty had no effect on the 16th-placed driver in the race.
  • Zane Maloney also received a time penalty of five seconds for leaving the track three times. He also received two penalty points on his racing licence. Maloney therefore dropped behind Edo Mortara and Norman Nato and was classified in 14th place.
  • Dan Ticktum also received a five-second time penalty after violating the track limits three times. Like Barnard and Maloney, Ticktum also received two penalty points. However, the time penalty had no effect on him and he remained in 15th place.
  • The same for Sam Bird: The McLaren driver also left the track three times and therefore received a time penalty of five seconds and two penalty points. However, this did not change his 20th and final place.
