The Porsche Formula E Team can leave Miami in a positive mood after a strong result. Both drivers finished on the podium in difficult conditions. While Nico Müller battled for victory throughout the race thanks to starting from pole position, team-mate Pascal Wehrlein had a slightly tougher time. Both drivers were delighted with the strong result after the race.

Müller's strong pace continued throughout the entire race weekend. After finishing third in both free practice sessions, he finally took pole position - his first in Formula E. In difficult conditions in a race with very few major incidents, the Swiss driver fought for victory almost to the end. Only the Jaguar of Mitch Evans was out of reach for him in the end.

Müller: "I'm happy to take the double podium"

"It was a very good day," said Müller in the press conference after the race. "Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough to keep Mitch behind us. Of course you would prefer to win when you start from pole position. Nevertheless, I am happy to take the double podium for Porsche and repay their faith in me."

"You always jump a bit into the unknown when you arrive at a new track," he continued. "Add to that the difficult conditions we had today. I think we can therefore be satisfied with the points haul."

The weekend did not go quite so smoothly for team-mate Wehrlein. The German started the race from 12th place after difficult practice sessions and a mediocre qualifying, but was able to work his way up to third place. The season 10 world champion had the following to say about the reason for his initially poor performance: "I struggled a bit all weekend. I was not happy with the car and how it was behaving. It was difficult for us to find the problem and solve it."

Wehrlein: "The win would certainly have been better"

"Fortunately, we were able to solve the problem in the end, which brought us the podium. That's positive, of course. Moving up from twelfth place is always good. We can be really happy about the double podium, even though it would certainly have been even better if one of us had won. There are not many weekends when you collect more than 30 points together for the team," he concluded.

In the team standings, Porsche now has a 27-point cushion over second-placed Citroen. In just two weeks' time, there will be an opportunity to extend the lead even further. Formula E will hold its first double-header of the season in Jeddah. Races 4 and 5 will take place on 13 and 14 February.
