After Nico Müller had already become the unlucky man of the race in Saturday's Formula E race in Monaco due to a faulty Pit Boost charger, Sunday didn't go any better for him: on lap 13 of the race, the Andretti driver lost his car in turn 3 ("Massenet"), bringing his race to a premature end. He saw the mistake as his own fault.
After the race, he looked for an explanation for the driving error: "We never seemed to be able to adapt to the wet conditions. We simply couldn't find any pace. As a result, I lost the car in turn 3", said Müller.

He is blaming no one else but himself. Shortly after the accident, he had already radioed his race engineer: "Sorry, that one's on me."
"Didn't want to risk continuing"
The Swiss driver might have been able to continue, but "we didn't want to risk continuing with the damage", explained Müller. His crash brought the safety car onto the track so that the accident site could be cleared.
Despite the mistake on Sunday, Müller still has hopes of a possible podium later in the season. His next opportunity will come as early as next weekend. Formula E will then hold its next "double-header" in Tokyo.
