TV broadcast: DF1 & ServusTV will also show Formula E season 2024/25 on free TV in Germany & Austria

After DF1 and ServusTV stepped in at short notice as broadcast partners for Formula E in Germany and Austria for the 2024 season, the collaboration with the electric racing series will continue in the coming season. The two TV stations made the announcement on Sunday during the live broadcast of the Formula E season finale in London.
ServusTV is responsible for the production and transmission of the Formula E programmes, while DF1 is responsible for broadcasting in Germany. The broadcasts are also available on the ServusTV On streaming portal. Compared to the 2024 season, the broadcaster is planning more on-site presence for the coming year. More details will be decided in the coming months, according to reports. The remaining races will continue to be broadcast from the studio in Salzburg.
In the past season, Italian Daniel Goggi took over the commentary. As co-commentator and expert, the broadcaster was able to win over ex-Formula E driver Daniel Abt, who had previously taken on this role at Sat.1 and ProSieben. It is not yet known whether the commentary team will remain in place for the next season.
Not always live
After DF1 broadcast qualifying in full at the start of the season, the channel has only shown the duel phase of qualifying live since the Sao Paulo E-Prix - according to our information, this is due to the long breaks in the current qualifying format. At least on DF1, some races were only shown with a time delay, which led to great displeasure among fans. In Berlin and at the season finale in London, ServusTV was on site with the commentators.
Further details on the TV broadcast for German-speaking countries are expected in the run-up to the new season, which will begin on 7 December with the Sao Paulo E-Prix. In the coming days, we will also publish a detailed season analysis of the first Formula E season on DF1.
