There was a curious reason why Pascal Wehrlein was unable to compete for the top positions at the Portland E-Prix of Formula E last weekend: A tear-off visor caused his Porsche 99X Electric to overheat and impaired his energy recovery in the final stages of the race. With this problem, the German could no longer attack at the end.

"A tear-off visor got caught in my radiator," Wehrlein explained to Motorsport Magazin. "As a result, the car overheated, and I could no longer recuperate as much energy as was actually possible. That started relatively early, around ten laps before the end." As a result, the 28-year-old was unable to finish higher than eighth, which saw him slip to third overall in the Formula E drivers' standings for the first time this year. Thanks to Antonio Felix da Costa's third-place finish, Porsche still holds the top position in the teams' standings.
