Nicholas Spinelli clinched a double victory at the MotoE race weekend in Le Mans. His closest rivals for the race wins were reigning world champion Mattia Casadei, Kevin Zannoni and Oscar Gutierrez, who also secured podium results. Casadei is still on course to defend his title in the overall standings.

In race 1 on Saturday morning, Hector Garzo got off to a dream start, while Casadei tried to overtake Spinelli behind him for second place. Eric Granado in 4th place had to fight from the start to keep up with the top 3. On lap 2, Spinelli was able to carry much more momentum through the Dunlop chicane to take the lead. Casadei was the beneficiary and also slipped through.

A lot happened in the leading group on laps 3 and 4: first Pons crashed, then Kevin Zannoni clashed with Granado and was also unable to hold on. Out of the slipstream, Garzo tried to pass Spinelli again at the start/finish, but lost the bike through the left-hand bend 3. Zannoni was the main beneficiary of these crashes, flushing him into third place. He was the fastest man in the second half of the race and passed Casadei with ease. However, he was unable to close the gap that Spinelli had opened up at the front. His team-mate Torres did not make it onto the podium. Mantovani completed the top 5.

Race 2: Spinelli vs Casadei

In race 2 in the afternoon, Spinelli took the lead from the start but had to surrender it to Casadei and Garzo on lap 2. However, as in the morning race, the Spaniard crashed and fell out of contention for the top positions, resulting in a duel between the reigning world champion and Spinelli. The two battled hard, and on the final lap it briefly looked as if Casadei might overtake him - but Spinelli narrowly prevailed and secured the one-two victory at Le Mans. Rookie Oscar Gutierrez took third place, with Spinelli now behind Casadei in the overall standings.
