Following the likely failure of the FIA ETCR, the future of its ERA Championship frame series also seemed open. The junior series had only joined the touring car series prior to the 2022 season and, following difficulties with the manufacture of its cars, was only able to actually race at the Zolder round. After that, the season was ended prematurely - the intention was to focus entirely on the 2023 season. Now those responsible have spoken via press release, as it stands around the future of the electric series.

"We share the disappointment of the motorsport family after the cancellation of the FIA ETCR for 2023. Even if we can not yet announce any details, we are working hard to finalize our plans for 2023. We are giving our all behind the scenes to deliver exciting electric racing according to our standards and values. We understand that our fans and partners are waiting for news and we want to assure them that we will announce it as soon as possible."

While ERA does not yet have a calendar for this season, five of the ten rider:ins have already been confirmed. They include Ellis Spiezia, who has been with the series since its inception, Emilie Villa, Danish Manohar, Victor Nielsen and Victor Smialek.
