Formula E extends Monaco deal until 2031 & moves 2027 races to new date

Formula E will continue racing in the Principality of Monaco until at least 2031. The Automobile Club de Monaco and the electric racing series have extended their partnership by a further five years. At the same time, the two races scheduled for the 2026/27 season have been moved to a new date.

The Monaco E-Prix will now take place on 1 and 2 May 2027. The double-header had originally been scheduled for 15 and 16 May. The change avoids a clash with the FIA World Endurance Championship, benefiting drivers who compete in both Formula E and WEC.

"There is no circuit in motorsport quite like the Circuit de Monaco, and we are incredibly excited to bring the next era of electric racing to the Principality," says Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo. He has particularly high expectations for the Monaco races with the new Gen4 cars: "With higher speeds, even more overtaking and thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing, this highlight of our double-header calendar promises to be our best yet."
