Formula E extends partnership with title sponsor ABB

The ABB FIA Formula E electric racing series has extended its partnership with Swiss technology company ABB. This was announced by both parties a week ago. It is not clear from the press release exactly what the partnership involves.
It is likely that ABB will continue to act as title sponsor on behalf of the racing series - as it has done for the past eight years. Back then, Formula E was the first FIA series to sell its name. ABB probably paid 12.5 million euros a year for it, as Sky News reported at the time. It is not known how many years the deal was extended by. Specifically, ABB is only talking about wanting to use Formula E "now all year round for brand activations".
After becoming a title sponsor in 2018, ABB also got involved technically by developing and providing the race chargers and its ABB Ability Optimax energy management software (both for season 9) and the power supply technology (season 5).
