Formula E in Berlin: The qualifying groups for Saturday's race at a glance
Tim Neuhaus
The two Formula E races in Berlin are extremely important for the world championship standings. Oliver Rowland can still become champion this weekend as long as he can open up a 58-point lead over Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa. Not only does qualifying set the basis for the race, but pole position is also rewarded with three very important points. Felix da Costa is one of the best qualifiers in Berlin, so the advantage may lie with Porsche.
The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions start in Group A, while the drivers in the odd-numbered positions start in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions in their group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final to fight for pole position and the first three championship points.
