Formula E in Madrid: The qualifying groups at a glance
Tim Neuhaus
Formula E is racing this weekend at the Circuito del Jarama near Madrid. Dan Ticktum was the fastest driver in the 1st free practice session. Then Felipe Drugovich in the 2nd free practice session and on a wet track. The weather for qualifying is still unpredictable and further rain showers cannot be ruled out. Everything is set for an exciting battle for pole position!
The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions will start in Group A, while the drivers in the even-numbered positions will start in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions of the group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, battling for pole position and the first three championship points of the race day.
