Formula E in Miami: The qualifying groups at a glance
Tim Neuhaus
The third qualifying session of the season is coming up. The first ever battle for pole position awaits us at the Miami International Autodrome. The conditions in the 2nd free practice session were difficult due to the low sun. In addition, there was an abrupt end to the session with the collision between Lucas di Grassi and Mitch Evans. If you then factor in the possibility of rain, everything is in place for an exciting qualifying session!
The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions start in Group A, while the drivers in the even-numbered positions start in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions of the group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, battling for pole position and the first three championship points of the race day.
