Formula E in Miami: The qualifying groups at a glance
Tim Neuhaus
For the first time since the first season, Formula E will return to Miami this weekend. The electric racing series will be a guest at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, an oval circuit that is normally used by the NASCAR series. However, the Formula E cars will not drive the outer lap, but the infield circuit, which runs through the centre of the track. Qualifying starts at 3:40 pm (CEST), and the drivers will take to the track in these groups!
The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions will start in Group A, the drivers in the odd-numbered positions in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions in their group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final to fight for pole position and the first three championship points.
