Formula E in Monaco: The qualifying groups for Race 2 at a glance

The second day in the Principality is coming up! Yesterday we witnessed a spectacular race and an exciting qualifying session. It was obvious how important the starting positions were for success. Nyck de Vries won from second place and pole setter Dan Ticktum would have finished third without a penalty. Qualifying could be just as important today, even if we don't have a pit boost race and energy efficiency will therefore play a greater role.

The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions will start in Group A, while the drivers in the even-numbered positions will start in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions of the group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, battling it out for pole position and the first three championship points of the race day.
