Formula E in Monaco: The qualifying groups for Saturday at a glance

Tim Neuhaus

Formula E returns to the Principality of Monaco. The historic streets of the city-state on the Mediterranean coast require the drivers to work to the millimetre in qualifying. Both groups in the battle for the best grid positions are fairly evenly matched. While Pascal Wehrlein and Oliver Rowland are likely to be the top favourites in Group A, the recently very fast Taylor Barnard, Antonio Felix da Costa and both Jaguars will start in Group B!

The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions will start in Group A, the drivers in the odd-numbered positions in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions in their group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final to fight for pole position and the first three championship points.
