Formula E in Shanghai: The qualifying groups for Sunday at a glance

Formula E, DTM, Formula 1 and Indy 500: there's a lot going on in motorsport this weekend. From 04:20 (CEST), we will find out who will start the second race of the Shanghai E-Prix from grid position 1. In our overview, you can find out which driver has to start in which group.

In the time trial, the drivers initially meet in two groups. As usual, Formula E sorts the groups for the race according to the current championship standings. The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions start in Group A, while the drivers in the odd-numbered positions start in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions in your group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. There, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-final, semi-final and final and fight for pole position.
